This page explains which personal data we process when you visit this website or apply for a room at Blitzhype House SF, why we process it, and which rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Netlify's servers automatically record technical data such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page you requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. We use these logs only to deliver the site securely and reliably. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Fonts

The site loads the typefaces Instrument Serif and DM Sans from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers and transmits your IP address so the font files can be delivered. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a consistent presentation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google may transfer data to the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Your application

When you apply through the form on this site, we process the data you enter: your name, email address, where you are based, your LinkedIn or X profile if you add one, your answers about what you are building, what you are good at, what you have built before, why you want to join the house, whether you can stay for the full period, and how you heard about the house.

We use this data only to run the selection for Blitzhype House SF: to review your application, contact you, arrange a conversation with you, and, if you are selected, prepare your stay. Legal basis: the processing is necessary for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Applications are submitted through Netlify Forms and stored on Netlify's servers (see above). Netlify also sends a copy of each application by email to the people running the selection at Anyjoi GmbH; these mailboxes are hosted by Google (Google Ireland Limited), which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Within Anyjoi GmbH, only the people running the selection can read your application. We do not share your application with anyone else and do not use it for advertising.

If you are not selected, we delete your application at the latest three months after the selection closes, unless you ask us to keep it for a later edition. If you are selected, we keep your application for the duration of your stay and delete it at the latest six months after the house closes, unless statutory retention duties require us to keep parts of it longer.

Email contact

If you email us at scr@anyjoi.com, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns an application or contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the correspondence once your request is fully dealt with, unless statutory retention duties apply.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise any of these rights, email scr@anyjoi.com. You can also withdraw your application at any time; we will then delete it.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.

Changes

We update this policy when the site or our processing changes. The current version is always the one published here.
